Looking on the Cross of Christ
As I meditate on that day
That glorious yet painful day
The day my Savior bequeathed me Salvation
Counted me an unworthy being, worthy of His death
*****
Coming down this earth, leaving heavenly splendour
Walking in the streets of this earth; not finding a place to sleep
And if that were not enough, dying even on the Cross
But why, why suffer and die for a worthless me.
Surely this he showed; am unworthy yet not worthless
*****
Yes unworthy, lost in depravity; a shame of my fallness
But still worthwhile, more than birds or lilies, He said
For no lily or bird He came, yet for me He died
Worthy am by creation, redemption and now His indwelling
This for sure I know, am an unworthy yet a worthwhile being.
*****
This He has proved by His death
And by mine I have received of Him
That He only who is worthy
Even He that redeemed unworthy me
May receive but all glory and me none
*****
Yes I am unworthy but through Him now I am worthwhile
Glory to God and our Savior Christ Jesus
*****
